GaldorGaldor Elensor:

Galdor was born in Feywild the first son of a father that was third in line for the throne. While there is little to no chance that he would come near the near life ending horror of being crowned, his father still did his best to teach (with a leather strap when necessary) the proper bearing and manner in which one of his station should behave.

By the age of thirteen, Galdor had learned the fine art of manipulating his parents, friends, and close kin. By day, he was a shining example of what a young Eldarin who might one day sit on a throne should be and by night he was something quite different. This is not to say that he was evil or had an eschew moral compass; however, some of his acquaintances did think that very thing.

Over the years Galdor picked up several, what his father would have called uncouth, skills. He learned to pick a pocket or two, how to move quietly through the shadows when he was being looked for, and how to get access to places or valuables that belonged to someone else. Overall, his childhood was a bright shiny place full of interesting things to learn and places to see... and royal family members to stay away from.

During his 18th year, his eldest uncle was killed during a hunting trip and things in Galdor's life seemed ready to change for the worst. Not only was his father now second in line for the throne, but his last remaining uncle had been having some health problems of late. It was time, Galdor decide, to take a trip.

On a quite summer evening Galdor slipped quietly from his family's home and melted silently into the shadows. Never, he vowed to himself to return.
Galdor went to live with the old wizard Magrim. Magrim had invited him years before to become a pupil, though at the time the lifestyle of running errands and cleaning up for an old man seemed like it could possibly be worse than living at home. However, now it seemed like it might be just the place to lie low and be forgotten.

For twelve years Galdor did his best to forget who he was and worked hard for the old wizard. He cleaned, cooked, and fixed anything around the tower that needed doing. All the while, he also took lessons from Magrim and learned the ways of the wizard.

One night a messenger came from his father, how the man knew where to find him, Galdor was not sure, but the message read:

Son, your uncle is dying and will not last the winter. Soon they will call me to take his place and wear the crown. No matter how far or fast you run nor how deeply in the shadows you hide, you will one day be king. Go see the world, son, learn what you can for the day will soon come when I will summon you back home to take your place.

So, Galdor did just that, he left Magrim's tower with nothing but the tattered robes he was wearing, a dagger, and a magical orb. He set out to see the world.
