Harbin was the first to arrive. Dressed in fine clothes and carrying his own while goblet, set the small, backward village of Wyr stirring with rumors and intrigue (some of which probably started by himself and might have even been true). He took his time talking with people and gathering information about the 'bandits', and he took a room for himself at the only inn within town.
He was shortly joined by a person fully encased in steel. This sent another tremor through the small village only slightly larger than Harbin's arrival due to the fact that the person who looked to the villagers as a knight on holiday from the queen's guard was a woman, Kitiana.
Soon after the others arrived. A beautiful young elf maiden who looked only slightly uncomfortable outside the woods, Olive; and, another elf maiden carrying a rather large tome. The last to arrive was the dwarf, Flap, who definitely looked to be a Priest of Moradin.
After meeting in the tavern and discussing strategies for combating the bandits plaguing the town of Wyr they set out to meet the acting mayor of Wyr, Gregor. Gregor is a portly merchant who buys and sells goods from the traveling merchants. He referred to himself as "A good Queen's Man" and promised 1000 gold coins to the adventurers if they rid the town of the troubles they have been experiencing.
Gregor described the scene in which the merchants found themselves and told of the damage that had been done to the wagons and in some cases the horses who pulled the wagons. He was of the opinion that the bandits were mostly after food, and were cowardly, as they did not bother the merchants who had several guards to watch their goods.
The party of adventurers then returned to the inn, noting that the church building looked to be the newest building in town and that there was another dwarf in town, the blacksmith. Back at the inn they decided to innocently and quietly ask around the large common room after the latest rumors regarding the recent troubles with bandits.
The scholarly elf decided that it would be best to handle this by announcing to the room that they were adventurers for hire and would be looking into the situation. Harbin found this to be a bit irritating and not at all 'innocent'. Disgusted, he decided to put on the disguise of a slightly drunken lord and proceeded to hit on the tavern's barmaid/owner to see if he could use his charms to get some additional information.
Unfortunately, his ploy backfired and things didn't go well. Luckily, Olive was able to step in and recover a bit of the party's face. She was able to smooth over Harbin's roguish actions and convince Gwen, the barmaid, to give them a little information. This led to finding a strange, worn document which no one was able to read, but seemed somehow important.
While the scene in the tavern took place, Kitiana decided it might be best to quietly leave the well planned disaster in the common room to the others while she went outside to find the blacksmith. Kheldar, a warrior that fought in The Last War had taken up residency in this small town to live a quite life, had put together a masterfully crafted suit of armor that Kitiana immediately found to her liking.
The party decided next they would get some sleep, after taking a few minutes to rehash the information they had gathered and share a look at the message that had been copied from Gwen's treasured memoir from her flight to the monastery. Harbin woke a few hours before sun up to scout around the town and see if the mayor had made good on his promise to retrieve a wagon and that the empty crates and tarp that Kitiana had secured from the blacksmith were ready. Incidentally, though Harbin had suspected otherwise, no one from the town was meeting with a dark stranger to tell of the adventurer's plans.
Once everyone was awake and had a quick breakfast at the inn, the adventurers set off to find the bandits and remove the threat to the town of Wyr.
